Incorporated
in 1941 Bailey & Mackey has built an enviable reputation as a leader in
design, development and manufacture of pressure switches, transducers and
gauges.
The company introduced pressure
switches to its product range in 1956 the applications for which have since
grown considerably, benefiting from the quality, skill and craftsmanship that
has become a trademark of Bailey & Mackey.
More recently in the early 1980's
the company launched into electronics with the introduction of a range of
pressure transducers for industrial applications.
Pressure Switches
Bailey & Mackey's well established range of pressure switches is both
reliable and robust, while offering a cost effective solution for most alarm
and safety cut-out applications throughout industry.
Specification
Operated by the deflection of a spring metallic diaphragm on a microswitch
there are no moving parts or bearings to wear on applications where vibration
or fluctuating pressures are experienced. Available in pressure ranges from
5-100 mbar up to 40-400 bar, switches for hydraulic pressures above 40 bar
use spring loaded pistons in place of spring diaphragms.
Applications
The Bailey & Mackey range includes pressure switches for operation in
special applications such as chemical plants, hazardous areas, and for use
with specific fluids such as slurry, sewage, heavy fuel oil etc.
Pressure Transducers
Developed in close co-operation with end-users the Bailey & Mackey range
of pressure transducers is designed for a wide variety of industrial applications.
The range features two distinct methods of operation.
Piezo Resistive
These pressure transducers use sensors incorporating Piezo resistive circuitry
on a silicon diaphragm. The small signal is amplified to give a useable output,
the two most common being 4-20mA or 0-10 Volts.
Magnetic Type
The magnetic type is activated via movement of a magnet attached to a spring
diaphragm which changes the output from a Hall effect sensor. the small electric
signal is amplified by specially developed electronic circuits to give a useable
output of 0-10 Volts. Available in pressure ranges from 0-100 mbar up to 0-250
bar and differential pressures from 0-100 mbar up to 0-10 bar. Adjustment
of gain (range) and offset (zero) is available on all types.
Applications
Units can be supplied with cooling coil transmitters for use with hot liquids
or gases; 50mm pipe flange, for mounting on pipes carrying slurry or powder,
and full chemical seals for applications where a corrosive pressure medium
is present. A range of ancillary equipment such as powder supplies and digital
or analogue meters can be supplied for use with Bailey & Mackey pressure
transducers.
